Lee and Sara found this original 1970 Boss 302 sitting in a pasture along with another 1970 Boss 302 and a 1971 429CJ Mach I in 1999. They had been parked there since 1985. Parts from both Boss's were used to restore Sara's slime lime car to original condition so Lee was left with little choice but to add a few after market items to his. Lee started with a modern 302 roller block since the original Boss block was beyond repair. A hefty main cap girdle made up for the lack of the Boss's 4 bolt mains and the original Boss heads and intake were used. This was topped with a Mighty Demon 750 CFM carb and sparked by an MSD 6AL ignition. The exhaust system includes FPA nickel plated headers and really cool electric cut-outs that can be opened and closed from inside the cab. Stroked to 331 cubic inches with a 0.640 lift mechanical roller cam, this Trans-Am born small block made 442hp @6700rpm on the engine dyno! All that horsepower is delivered to the ground through the original close ratio toploader and a 3.91:1 tractionlok 31 spline 9 inch rearend. Traction bars and sub-frame connectors were added to stiffen things up. Sara's car needed the power steering valve from Lee's so he had no choice but to add a TCP rack and pinion set-up, a TCP coil-over front suspension kit, SSBC rear disks brakes and Koni adjustable shocks. The car is finished in its original Grabber Blue and sports a shaker hood, rear window slates and rear spoiler.
