| Before Restoration | After Restoration |
This pony was found setting in a pasture in Boise in 1999 where it had been parked since 1985. We brought it home in January 2001. The top to bottom restoration began in the fall of 2002 and was finished in the spring of 2004. It's powered by an original Boss 302 engine through the original close ratio 4 speed toploader and the 3.50:1 nine inch 31 spline nodular rear-end. The car was ordered January 8th, 1970 with the following options: rear spoiler, close ration 4 speed, RWL F60x15 tires, fold down rear seat, power steering, AM radio and tachometer. This low option car was built January 21st, 1970 at the Dearborne, Michigan factory and sold March 27th, 1970.
It had been changed to a white car with black interior at some point in its life and was pretty rough. Extensive repair of the floors, quarters and door skins was performed by Valley Auto Body who also returned it to the original Medium Lime Metallic color. The engine was built 0.040" over utilizing the original forged crank and boss rods with custom J&E pistons and an original grind mechanical lifter cam by Boise Cylinder Head.
We're just past the break-in mileages and are having fun learning all about the top-end performance of the famed Boss 302 small block. This pony really wakes up above 4,000 rpm!!
