Our member car of the month is from the stable of Heath & JoAnn Kopp. Their pony is a 1969 Mach 1 428 Super Cobra Jet with the Drag pack and Ram Air.
Here are more details from Heath:
This car was built in San Jose, DSO is also San Jose. I bought the car in the heart of San Jose 31 years later and trailered it to Meridian. Car is a Mach 1, with the 428 SCJ (3:91 31-spline nodular rear) R-code, with a 4-speed close ratio (RUG AE2) transmission. Additional factory equipment includes power disc brakes, power steering, console, dash tachometer, and fold down rear seat.
Spoiler and slats added by me. The wheels and 50-series tires will soon be replaced with Magnums and 60-series rubber. The car was originally lime green; I painted it Super Sonic blue pearl and will be striping it with paint this summer. Glass has been changed to 1970 bolt-in. I plan to replace the Hooker Super Comp headers with factory manifolds. Our pony also has a Barry Grant Speed Demon 750 and Mallory Comp 9000 ignition.
FUN!? Judge for yourself!
