Hello, my name is Robert Shewchuk, my wife Dale and I are here in Boise from
Scottsdale, Arizona with our DeTomaso
car collection. Some time after we arrived in Boise I
met Mark Barham and was asked to attend a club meeting and we joined that day.
Although we don't own a Mustang at this time, we have owned plenty in the past.
My first car was a '65 rag-top with 289 3-speed and my current daily driver is a
'64 Ranchero with 289 4-speed and '69 Mustang disc brakes up front. And hey, the
instrument cluster is the same as a '65 Mustang! Well I think you get the idea
we're Ford car people from complete car to sometimes engine only! Which brings
me to my next topic and current interest, DeTomaso cars / exotic
mid-engine cars with Ford motors Capri steering rack / and Italian everything
else.
I have owned this car in the picture since 1989. This euro spec. '71 Pantera
stayed in Rome the first three years of its life was then shipped to
South Africa. And in 1989 it was shipped state side in a cargo container along
with a Hemi Cuda and some British motorcycles?? by a Californian on a
economic sanction "Lets screw with South Africa" buying spree. I guess things
(toys) over there were bargain priced because of the cash shortage. My friend
Fred bought it from the Californian and I traded Fred my 69 Shelby for it, so
there you have it. If you see Dale and I at any of the shows with this car or
any of our other DeTomaso
cars (Panteras and Mangustas), and have questions, please ask. My E-mail address
is boise@qwest.net
If you have a story to tell about your Mustang or Special Interest Ford,
please E-mail it along with a picture to
