This months featured car is Dave and Jeanette's 1968 Candy Apple Red GT California Special. It is one of eighty-seven manufactured with a 390 two-barrel engine. It was assembled at the Mill Pitas plant in San Jose, CA. The car is all original except for a repaint and carpet. It has about 131,000 miles and has not been overhauled.

1968 GT California Special equipment includes: Shelby fiberglass rear deck lid and fiberglass extensions, nonfunctional side scoops, sequential tail lights, GT/CS side and rear deck stripes, California Special rear fender emblems, blacked-out grille with Marchal or Lucas fog lamps, styled steel wheels and pop-open gas cap without GT emblems, and click-type hood locks.

Dave and Jeanette have had this car for about six years. They purchased it from a friend that lived in California and painted cars in the plant where the car was built. They are at least the third owners and this is the third Mustang that they have owned. They no longer have the first two Mustangs, but have purchased another since this one.
