This months featured car is Ron and Cindy's 1965 Mustang convertible that has been restored to concours driven condition. Cindy wrote the following ballad sung to the tune of "The Beverly Hillbillies" to tell the story of their car.

            THE BALLAD OF RON'S CAR

Oh, listen to a story 'bout a fella named Ron
Who bought an old Mustang from his neighbors for a song.
The car was a sixty-five, the year was 'seventy-nine,
And the guy and his car, they got along just fine.
Convertible, that is--top down, cruisin' around.

Well, he didn't drive it much-he parked it and it sat.
The convertible top rotted, the tires got kinda flat.
And then one day, his brain, it had a storm!
He said. "Ima gonna restore this to its original form!"
Like New, that is--lots of shine, lookin' fine.

Well, Ron jumped in that old car, and he drove it down to Rob.
He said, "Hey, buddy, how would you like a job?
They say neat and classy is how this car should be."
So they loaded up on parts, which did not come for free.
Money, that is--lots of green for a new machine.

Rob Robinson worked for eighteen months, you know,
Then that car, they took it to the Boise Roadster Show.
It won second place in its class for lookin' fine-
So Ron began to take it to some local show n' shines.
Show, that is--lots of places, whole new faces.

Now, Ron dinged his fender when he hit the garage door,
No sooner was it fixed than he bumped another Ford!
Now, he wont 'fess up to this, he tries to hide his shame.
He tries to tell people that his wife's the one to blame.
Fibber, that is--little white lie, an untruthful guy.

Well, to join up with the Treasure Valley Mustang Club Ron went,
and he brought along his wife, and became Vice-President.
He has a lot of fun when he's playing in his car,
Don't matter if he's a drivin' near or drivin' far.
The End, that is--no more song, so long!
